Book Reviews - It Will Either Make You Or Break You
If there is one thing in the publishing industry that it's importance can never be reiterated enough, it's book reviews. Think of that this way, have you ever bought a novel that didn't have a decent number of reviews and predominately 5 star rating? I can tell you on a personal level that I haven't and I believe that the majority of you haven't either. Our brains are unfortunately trained to sift for the good stuff based on the opinion of the majority. There is so much content out there, that we could never read it all. So our brain tells us, why even waste your precious time on an underrated/non-rated book. -
HYPE - The Snowball Effect
After discussing the Self Vs Traditional Publishing option and your digital marketing mediums, the next big goal is Hype. Actually, it's more of a dream goal than a realistic one, but hey reach for the stars right? You've gone through the painstaking process of writing, editing and promoting your novel. All that's left is to think/dream big and plan for the Hype. A dream without a plan remains a dream. So what is Hype exactly? -
Liberty, More Than A Statue
Whenever you think what is the most important aspect in life, happiness is everything. If you are not happy, nothing has meaning. You have to wonder than why the majority of the governments efforts and budget go towards stabilizing the economy. Money doesn't make you happy. Financial security is great but it's an illusion like everything else. We live in a dynamic world and your fortunes can turn on the flip of a dime. We all seek stability, but everything changes. What matters most is your mental resilience and emotional well being. -
Modern Author = A Digital Marketing expert & Talented Writer
Long gone are the days, where writer's could recluse and solely focus on writing. Nowadays, in order to succeed as an author you have to maintain a well oiled digital marketing machine. This is probably why we see significantly less classic material being produced. No more Robinson Crusoe. The world has gone deep into fast consuming commercialism and short term monetization. It's not enough that the author is an extremely talented writer but he/she must be a digital media expert as well. What are the chances of that happening?

A Writer's Paradise
Writing can be a pretty solitary activity, either way you cut it, the majority of the time it's just you and your mind. A therapeutic process where you can combine self expression and creativity. It's an art form that engrosses your mind and captivates your soul. Weeks become days, months become weeks and before you know it - you've weathered the storm

Self Vs Traditional Publishing - It's A No Brainer
Many budding authors are often faced with this dilemma, should I go the self-publishing route? A process that is getting simpler by the day, or should I seek to get traditionally published? A significantly more arduous process, that entails finding an agent that will know how to submit the proper pitch to publishing houses that stands head and shoulders above the ever-mounting pile that publishers have to sift through. -
Daily Word Count When Writing A Novel - Every Writer's Dilemma
How many words should I write everyday when working on my novel? This is probably the first question that pops into every new writer's mind when they start working on their first novel. It just seems such a daunting task in the beginning, an insurmountable mountain. However, trust me when I tell you, the mountain gets smaller as you move along, the key is making progress everyday. -
Writer's Block - There Is A Way!
There is a quote by Charles Bukowski that aptly describes this topic, "Writing about writer's block is better than not writing at all." This quote is a true pearl of wisdom, nothing like experience. Whatever field of writing you may be in, author, journalist, blogger, editor, etc; at some stage you are going to feel like you cannot string a sentence together. When that feeling creeps in, your gut is going to tell you to leave it alone. Take break, go grab some coffee and try again another day. Although, that may work for some, it can smother you deep in the clutches of a bad habit. -
No Deal BREXIT - A Farce By The Masses
This is the beginning of the end for Brexit. Last night, Theresa May's proposed Brexit deal was crushed by 230 votes by UK MP's, the biggest government defeat in history. Somehow, the UK finds itself in one of the most farcical situations in modern times. The question we are all asking ourselves, not just the British, is why? How did we end up here to begin with?

The Voss Coin - In Search Of Nirvana
In my upcoming novel, The Voss Coin , one of my favourite chapters to write is called In Search of Nirvana and I'm not talking about the legendary rock band. It revolves around a Japanese Buddhist monastery located in the Kii mountains close to the vibrant city of Osaka.
